Wil Adams

Wil Adams holds degrees from Springfield College in Illinois (Springfield), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington) and VanderCook College of Music (Chicago). He is the director of bands at Lanphier High School in Springfield, Illinois, having taught in various districts in Illinois. In addition to his duties in the Springfield Public School District, he has served as adjudicator, guest soloist, guest clinician, and guest conductor throughout Illinois.

He holds the principal trumpet chair for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, is a charter member of the Bi-State Brass Quintet, plays E-flat cornet in the Heartland Brass Band, and trumpet in the Springfield Municipal Band, the Lincoln Land Community College Big Band, the Bowling Alley Big Band, the Chatford Orchestra, and the Brickhouse Brass Quintet. He has been a member of the following ensembles: the Jacksonville Big Band, the Edwardsville Municipal Band, the ILBT Horn Section of the Big Bad Blues Machine, the Capitol Brass Quintet, and the Fritz and the Flying Dutchmen German Band.

He is also one of the top call trumpet players in the central Illinois area. His trumpet teachers include: Fred Greenwald, Steve Eggleston and Joe Lill.
